Chang and Peng had put forward the problem of guaranteed cost control in 1972. The basal idea is to design a state feedback control law such that the closed-loop systems are regular, stable, and impulse-free, while the cost index of the closed-loop systems is within a certain bound for all these admissible uncertainties, [n recent years, there has been fully researched and obtained much work for the problem of guaranteed cost control with uncertain systems, along with the development of robust control of uncertain systems. However, so far the main work only in general systems. It is very hard to study the problem of guaranteed cost control for uncertain singular systems, owing to the particularity of the singular systems. So that it is of important practical meaning to study the problem of guaranteed cost control for uncertain singular systems.in this dissertation, a detailed analysis of the current situation of study on guaranteed cost control and a discussion about the problems of guaranteed cost control for singular systems are stressed. The main results in this dissertation are as follows.1.The background related to the subject is summarized and some preparation information on LMI and MATLABLMI toolbox and lemmas used is the dissertation are given.2.Study the problems of guaranteed cost control for uncertain linear singular systems and uncertain discrete-time uncertain singular by singular Riccati equation, and obtain the condition that exist the guaranteed cost controller for the close-loop systems.3.Study the problems of guaranteed cost controller satisfies H disturbance for uncertain linear singular systems by LMI, and obtains the optimal guaranteed cost index and optimal H disturbance attenuation level. A design method of controller satisfies H disturbance is put forward for a class of continuous and discrete-time singular systems with uncertainties by Riccati equation, respectively.4.Consider the problem that the controller with disturbance, a design method and conditions are obtained by selecting the optimization criterion suitably and Riccati equations.5.A design method is put forward based on the state observer and obtains the condition there exist guaranteed cost controller by LMI.
