Data processing is a part of information technique as well as an important part of computer application. Data processing is a series of work dealing with various data including classification,organization, coding,storage,searching and maintenance. Data processing arms at providing value information for further action and decision-making by analyzing a mass of original data. It also the means by which people save and manage large numbers of data so that people can use these valuable information resource expediently. Data processing is developing along with development of the technique of software and hardware.This paper mainly elaborates on image processing algorithms,database and multimedia applications. In chapter 3, this paper introduces an improving methods for fractal coding based on defining eigenvalue, the eigenvalue can be used as reference in process of coding, so the coding methods need less time. In chapter 5, this paper introduces an application of database in enterprise. In chapter 6, this paper introduce an method on designing generalized multimedia appli cations. This method enables the programmer to implement the same executable file in the development of diverse multimedia applications. The executable file has great expansibility, therefore greatly speeds up the programming procession developing multimedia applications.
