In this paper, simulation of uplink and estimating channel multipath parameters in WCDMA system are developed, these parameters include multipath DOA(Direction of arrival), multipath delays and multipath amplitudes. Every modules used in the simulation system are described, the multipath parameter estimation algorithms and techniques based on array signal processing are studied in detail as well. Some algorithms with practical values are introduced and the computer simulation results verifying the conclusions are also presented. The main researching work in this paper can be summarized as follows:1. The research of multipath parameter estimation algorithms and accomplishing them with software. To estimate multipath parameters, multipath delays must be estimated by code filtering in advance. Then multipath DOA's and amplitudes can be estimated by using multipath delays. Besides, WMSA and delay tracing techniques are used to improve the precision of parameter estimation and the performance of the whole system is improved in some degree accordingly.2. The establishment of simulation system The simulation system is based on SIMULINK in MATLAB. Itis composed of two parts "Est delay and Est data". The system simulates the whole course from the signal generating, transmitting in the channel, being received by antennas to the signal rebuilding. The whole system is modularized in SIMULINK so that it can be operated and modified easily.3. Simulation experiment on uplink in WCDMA system Signal source is generated by the computer, then it is coded, modulated and at last formed transmitted signal. Through the channel, the signal is received by array antennas and multipath parameters can be estimated by which the signal source can be rebuilt. At last, BLER(Block Error Rate) and BER(Bit Error Rate) can be worked out.
