Due to the advantages of light weight, cryogen needlessness and low cost, the uncooled infrared focal plane arrays (IRFPAs) is rapidly developing for wide commercial and military applications. The read- out integrated circuit (ROIC) is an important interface circuit between infrared focal plane arrays (IRFPAs) and signal processor. In the paper, the principle and structures of ROIC, made from complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) for two dimension microbolometer focal plane arrays, are studied in detail and the designs of ROIC are verified by computer simulation experiments. A capacitor feedback transimpedance amplifier (CTIA) is selected as preamplifier of ROIC based on comparing several preamplifier structures. In order to save the area of registers, the static or dynamic shift registers are used. Double resetting method(DR) , a new method avoiding the shortage of correlated double sampling method is proposed which can cancel noises without adding power consumption and complexity of silicon technique. In principle, K.TC noise can be completely cancelled by this method if the values of capacities are properly selected. Furthermore, the 1/f noise can also be suppressed. Finally, aiming at nonuniformity correction (NUC) produced by IRFPAs , an improved method of bias-correction method for nonuniformity correction (NUC) of IRFPA is put forward based on the traditional two- point- correction method. The principle of this bias correction method is expatiated and its validity and feasibility are theoretically confirmed.
