In the process of producing terebinth and colophony, it's difficult to measure the amount of terebinth in the turpentine on line, but it's the key to realize automatic control for the whole process. My thesis developed a soft-sensing method to measure the amount of terebinth in the turpentine on line. The content of studying in my thesis are as follow:First is the selection of direct measuring values. Based on the relationship between the temperature value , conglutination value and the amount in the turpentine, the temperature value and the conglutination value were selected being the direct measuring values. Through these two values, the amount of terebinth was measured indirectly. And a new way to measure the conglutination value on line was brought foreword.Next is how to build and select the model of the soft-sensing. The character of swatch data is unlinearity. For the artificial neural network is good at study the unlinearity mapping, it's possible to use the artificial neural network to build the model of the soft-sensing. And the theoretic feasibility was validated.Third is the design of the soft-sensing. The architecture of the soft-sensing is VC-H-\MATLAB\Access. The interface of the VC++ and MATLAB is the MATLAB Engine, the data in the application program were sent to the MATLAB though the engine, the training and the computing of the neural network is in the MATLAB. The preservation and management of theswatch data is the Access database management system.The feasibility of measuring the amount of terebinth in the turpentine on line by using artificial neural network was validated in my thesis. And the architecture of the soft-sensing is worthy of generalizing. Through this way the investigator can mostly concentrate on the object which he is studying but not how to program, so it's convenient and efficient.
