Data Mining Technology And Its Applications

This subject roots in the science fund project of GanSu province, aiming at the research on Data Mining and its application. We focus on the details of algorithms on Data Mining and the applications in telecom.Data Mining is a new technology applied to Decision Support System, which has been widely studied since 1990's. As an important step in knowledge discovery, Data Mining is used to find solution to the actual problems and discover the correlation between affairs through statistical algorithms, analysis, synthesis and reasoning on micro, middle and even macro size of data, and even make prediction based on historic data. The technology is a cross discipline, coming down to the knowledge of database, artificial intelligence, statistic and parallel computing, etc. As the efficiency of algorithms has direct effect on the result, we pay more attention to them during our research. In this paper, we first explained the concept of Data Mining in detail, then we focus on association rule mining, which is an important topic in Data Mining, including its fundamental algorithms and algorithms of online association rule mining. Finally an example of Data Mining is presented to show the schedule of application.During the study of the subject, I have an all-around understanding about the theory and application of Data Mining through reading bookmaking and papers in this field. Based on the research on algorithms, we realized one example following the workflow of Data Mining, which helps us understand the application of the technology. Data Mining is a technology for application, so there are still much knowledge and experience that need to be found in practice.
