Research And Implementation Of Xml Data Management System

With the development of Internet, XML has been gaining more and more attentions. Meanwhile, how to manage and use this kind of semi-structured data effectively remains a big problem. XML Data Management System is one of the hoping approaches to solve this problem. On the base of the existing XML Data Management System, this paper puts forward a novel method for the storage and management of XML data. First, the paper builds a XML Formal Data Model (XFDM). Through extending and improving the existing query algebra, we create a new XML Formal Query Algebra System (XFQAS). Then, we make some extensions and standardizations on XML-QL and implement an XML Data Management System (XMLDMS). Finally, we study the query optimization on XMLDMS. XMLDMS deals with storage and data model respectively which helps to implement the system using different methods. Experiment shows that the method putted forward in this paper can efficiently store and manage XML data and the' query optimization can improve query's performances.
