HDTV (high definition television) technology integrals the most advanced image compressed encodeing technology and the digital communication technology, it has become one of the focuses in the high-tech competitions.DVB is the digital HDTV standard that developed by more than 170 organizations in Europe.It mainly comprises satellite.terrestrial and cable digital television systems.This paper is about the algorithms of carrier recovery,timing recovery,equalizer and automatic gain control in the DVB-C receiver.In this paper,chapter one first introduces the excellence of the video digitization and the DVB systems.especially the DVB-C systems.Chapter two briefly introduces the principle of QAM modulation and demodulation,which prepares for the next section of the paper.Chapter three treats the carrier recovery algorithm in DVB-C receiver.It proposes the polarity decision PD algorithm due to the shortage of the usual algorithm.Chapter four introduces the all-digitized timing recovery algorithm based on interpolation hi DVB-C receiver.In addtion,the chapter introduces the principle of automatic gain control(AGC),and provides the AGC algorithm inDVB-C receiver. Chapter five discusses the structure of the two-dimensions equalizer,analyzes several blind equalizer algorithms and uses the blind equalizer algorithm in DVB-C receiver.
