Flexible multi-body system is of very complex dynamics. Modeling and simulation is a major means to research and design large flexible multi-body-structure spacecraft. To complete the rapid modeling and simulation by computer algebra system is one aim of the thesis; the other aim is researching adaptive control method to realize attitude maneuvering and suppressing the flexible vibration. The paper mainly concerns with the follows:(1) The discretization of flexible beam combined finite element method with numerical integration. It is of the advantage of lumped parameter method.(2) Based on Lagrange's method, the flexible spacecraft with a rigid center hub and two identical flexible appendages is modeled. And the model is simplified for control.(3) About the large deformation description, a multi floating coordinate system is adopted. It can effectively reduce the error of discretization.(4) Three methods are designed to realize attitude maneuvering and suppressing the flexible vibration: linear feedback control, Laypunov control and variable structure control method. The simulation has been done, the results show they are efficient.(5) The software has the ability to model automatically, produce program of simulation and control for flexible multi-body system. The software system realizes modeling automatically and control independently. The user only need input topology structure, every body's structure parameters: material and size, and force input, the computer deduces the dynamics model and outputs simulation module automatically. In the control module, the user can design control law independently.
