Ultra-WideBand synthetic radar (UWB SAR) in VHF/UHF band features the capability of foliage ( ground) penetration and high resolution imaging of concealed targets. The design and debugging technology of the UWB transmit-receive system is discussed in this thesis against the background of the "study on air-borne foliage (ground) penetration UWB SAR system" project. The design technology of wide band and low distortion system is discussed according to the characteristic of UWB transmit-receive system. Some of the important circuit units are analyzed. An error compensating method is put forward after the UWB transmit-receive'system error being discussed. The UWB SAR quadrature demodulation receiver reaches very high performance within 300MHz bandwidth: the amplitude ripple is 1.5 dB and the IQ imbalance is 0.2dB/2°. It entirely fulfilled the air-borne UWB SAR system's requirements.
