Since the application of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images became more and more extensive, many fields of application are demanding not only qualitative but also quantitative information from SAR images. This can be achieved by SAR Radiometric Calibration. High resolution spaceborne SAR gives new challenge to radiometric calibration. It is significantly meaningful to study the relation between high resolution spaceborne SAR radiometric calibration and Satellite Motion Parameters (SMP).Firstly, the characters of satellite geometrical motion parameters are studied and the equations of Doppler parameters are given.Secondly, the relation between high resolution spaceborne SAR radiometric calibration and SMP is discussed. The principle of high resolution spaceborne SAR radiometric calibration is expounded and an equation for radiometric correction was derived. Based on all of above, the influence of phase errors to radiometric calibration is discussed with different resolutions. Phase error result from the inaccurate Doppler parameter which is related to SMP. The precision of SMP different resolution spaceborne radiometric calibration require is desired."Last, 4he method of measuring SMP using ground transponder is discussed. The measuring model and mathematics model of this method is desired. The algorithm is derived. With these models, the simulation experiments are carried out and the advantage of this method is analyzed.The simulation results indicate that spaceborne SAR bring forward more rigorous requirement to SMP with the increasing of resolution. The method based on ground transponder can improve the precision of SMP which satisfy the requirement of radiometric calibration.
