Dvb-c, Data Broadcasting System Receives The Card Design

The rapidly developed Digital TV is replacing the analog TV gradually. The people s demands coming from the Cable TV s multimedia services based on DVB standard increase. As a new transmission solution,Digital Video Broadcasting System is being used widely because of its high speed and flexibility.This thesis is the outcome of the development of the DVB-C standard Digital Video Broadcasting System(DVBS) ,which belongs to Zhe Jiang Broadcasting Science and Technology Co. Ltd. As a member of this project team ,I am responsible for the development of the DVBS Receiving Card. This article describes the DVBS Receiving Card s design and implementation both in hardware and software.The DVBS Receiving Card is a receiving platform for DVBS together with the customer s PC. The DVBS Receiving Card and the customer s PC build-up the DVBS s receiving subsystem. The DVBS Receiving Card s function parts include QAM demodulation ,error-correcting decoding ,system-level demultiplexing,PCI bridge and buffering. The tuner is for QAM demodulation and error-correcting decoding functions. The L64108 chip fulfils the system-level demultiplexing and system controlling functions. PCI bridge is finished in FPGA. CA(Conditional Access) is a future function and we plan to use our own CA system. The system software is based on the pSOS Real-time Operating System. pSOS Real-time Operating System manages the hardware and system software resources,schedules all of the system tasks.The whole system hardware had worked perfectly together with the system program frame before I left the development team. The system program can response to the new table arriving event,create and maintenance the Program Information Data Structure after analyzing the tables. To PC User s request,the system program can download the Program Data Streams and send the Program Information Data Structure to the PC User.
