Fiber Optic Gyroscope is one kind of angle velocity sensors based on Sagnac effect. The fiber optic gyros have the significant features, being compared with the traditional spinning mass gyros, such as short worming-up time, light weight, maintenance free, reliability, wide dynamic range, low power consumption and low cost. It can be widely used in both military field and traditional field, such as satellite direct position, missile control, aircraft navigation and so on. Because all of this, the researches on it has became hot topics in recent twenty years. In this paper the basics of the fiber optic gyroscope is reviewed, the key techniques of the IIFOG's is discussed, an all digital closed loop fiber optic gyroscope system based on the high speed 16 bit DSP TMS320C5402 of TI (Texas Instruments) is presented. An integrated optic LiNbO3 chip are used, because of some of its attractive advantages, such as minus, smaller weight, and high frequency modulation. Digital signal gathering, digital signal processing and closed loop signal feedback on IFOG with integrated optics chip is discussed, theoretical analysis about the system precision and response time using DSP techniques is also discussed. Examples of hardware and its interface circuit of applications are given.
