Based On The Data Warehouse, Data Mining Technology Research And Data Classification

When the year comes into the infonnation age, the database size becomes larger and larger, the data stored in the database are often over GB or TB, and they may have much useful information that is unknown to the decision-maker. How to manage these data effectively and efficiently, how to find the potential knowledge in these data which may be very helpful to decision support, the answer is the Database Warehouse Technology and Data Mining Technology. These two technologies are the new hot spots in the computer world, and attract the attention of the experts and scientists in the field of database, machine learning, and statistics. In this paper, we discuss the basic concepts of the database warehouse and how to design, build the database warehouse. And then the definition, characteristic, classification of the data mining is been described, and the big advantage of the data mining based on database warehouse is pointed out specially. At last, the one of the most important aspect of the data mining, data classification is discussed in detail, and the algorithm for automatic generation of conceptual hierarchies for numerical attributes of a data set and the algorithm for dynamic conceptual hierarchies adjustment with attribute threshold are presented.
