Catv Vod System, The Video Server

With the development of the TV,communication,andinformation technologies,the application of Video onDemand(VOD) grows very increasingly. And this newtechnology brings a large revolution to the TV field. AndVideo Server (VS) is an important component of the VOD system.It must store huge video data and send the demanded programsout by different video streams.In this paper,first,the features,functions of the VOD,are discussed. Secondly,after analyzing several hardwarearchitectures of VS in detail,some viewpoints andhypothesis are presented.
