Based On Regional Intensity Rate Of Change Of The Image Boundary Detection

Image processing aroused many works'attention form many fields, though its history is not very long. Image processing becomes more common in many fields. Edge is the basic feature of one image, and edge detection is one of classical tasks in fields of image processing and computer vision. In many image processing and image understanding systems, the accuracy and reliability of edge detection is a critical factor in the overall performance of these systems. In this paper, an edge detector is introduced, which is named as edge detector based on region intensity variety. The method is tested with Lena image, and comparison is made with Sobel operator.
