Research On Test Case Generation Method Based On UML Activity Diagram Model

Software testing is playing an important role in the process of software development. It assures the quality of software. How to generate effective test cases is the core of testing, In this paper, this research is devoted to the design and generation test case method based on UML activity diagram model, and a supporting tool is implemented by which. Not only can effectively reduce the cost of testing, improve the efficient of development, but also make the testers find the mistake as early as possible.This paper is focused on the approach of test case generation based on UML activity model, mainly divided into the following several aspects of content:(1) In test scenario generation part, this approach is to convert an activity diagram into a directed graph, analysis the XML file, get the corresponding node information, test scenarios information is getted.(2) Because of the UML activity diagram containing complex structure, it is difficult to get test case, how to simplify the complex structure of activity diagram is reasearch.(3) In the test data generation part, test profile is defined in order to describe test related information such as input/output data.(4) Design and implementation of the UML activity model based test case generation prototype tool is introduced, and is applied to "Drug Quality Management System"The prototype tool can satisfy testing based on analsis phase, help software development and testing process as much as possible parallel. The results show that the tool ensures the feasibility of the test case generation approach presented.
