Currently,as the important passive components in modern communication systems, power divider has the function of the power distribution and combination, it is widely used in the field of communication systems such as Power amplifier, Mixer, Predistortion circuit and MIMO antenna. Traditional Wilkinson power dividers already can not satisfy the requirement of modern communication systems for the limitations of its working frequency and bandwidth,.Firstly, this paper introduces the research background of power dividers especially introducing the research status of dual-band and broadband power dividers.Secondly,this paper introduces the characteristics and principles of Wilkinson power dividers and impedance transformer in detail. Then the paper analysis the dual-band power splitters and broadband power splitters in design principle deeply.Based on the transmission line theory and microwave theory, the paper gives the design method and parameters of power dividers.Then, according to the specific design parameters of evey power dividers,we set up two new models on dual-band power splitters and broadband power dividers in the ADS simulation software respectively,and by the ADS software simulation,we analysis the models.we design the PCB layout of models by AutoCAD, and complete physical processing production of the power dividers.Finally, we test the performance of the new power splitters by using the vector network analyzer, and compare the simulation results to test results.The results verify the design methods of the two new types of power dividers are correct.This paper puts forward a new type of power dividers.This power divider has the miniaturization and simple structure.It can satisfy the requirements of the modern communication systems.
