At present, the mainstream solution for building a private cloud within the enterprise is using open-source IaaS platforms which can implement the management of computing resource through virtualization technology, but most of the platforms are lack of the standards and plannings on user access control and business operation management. To satisfy those demands, it’s necessary to design and implement a self-service system to provide a uniform service entrance for users in different roles. In addition, the system should also bring the resource management into the enterprise approval management, as well as providing the intelligent monitoring and friendly show of the key issues, including the load scheduling of physical resource and the running state of virtual resources.The main purpose of this research is to design and implement a user self-service system for IaaS platform. The system can undertake the identity authentication and privilege management, and also support the core business processes such as the application for creating and recycling of IT resource. To communicate with resource providing system and monitoring system, the communication interface should be defined and specified in order to provide the convenient and visual management of the infrastructure resource in a friendly way. The research was conducted from three aspects:First of all, according to the analysis of research status at home and abroad on IaaS platform, the modular construction is widely accepted and concluded that the service system plays an important role in the IaaS platform construction. Therefore, the research paper mainly discussed the key technologies to realize the self-service system for IaaS platform.Secondly, the research paper made the overall demand analysis of user service system from two aspects:the system users and business requirements. To make a more detailed description of the requirements, the system is divided into three functional modules, which are user rights management, business process management and virtual resources management.Finally, the system was designed and implemented considering the need of system integration, including the management of user privilege and the business process, as well as the definition of the communication interface between the different modules. As a result, the self-service system can be integrated into IaaS cloud management platform to provide effectively services.
