Fieldbus control system has become new generation of industrial automation and control system because of its openness, decentralized control, interoperability and other characteristic s. Fieldbus application areas are more and more widely. Because there are numerous standards of fieldbus, and communication protocols are very different and incompatible, so network eq uipments who connect heterogeneous fieldbuses are essential. PROFIBUS-DP as the the most representative fieldbuse is widely used for data communication and control of field device la yers. This paper mainly discusses the design and implementation of DP adapter based on uCo s-III operating system.Through the analysis of the adapter needs and the combination of relevant technical inde x, this paper gives the general architecture design of software and hardware adaper. Using mo dular design method, we divide the function modules of adaptor as:main controller module, sl ave controller module, Modbus interface module, PROFIBUS-DP bus interface module. Acco rding to the overall architecture of hardware, this paper selects the type of the controller, gives the whole hardware circuit design and implementation, including power supply circuit, VPC3 +C circuit and RS485 interface circuit etc.. According to the overall architecture of software, t his paper expounds the method of transplanting uCos-III embedded operating system, and me anwhile based on this system we design and realize the drive of interface circuit, the drive of c ode upgrade and the drive of slave singlechip communication. At last we design and realize th e service software of adapter.Combined with SIEMENS Step7 software and GSD file we have tested the PROFIBUS-DP adapter, and the test results show that the adapter functions have met the demand, the tech nical indicators have reached the expected requirements.
