Compared with single senor, the mul-sensor has an advantage on object identification. The device with mul-sensor can make a more accurate judgement with more information. The technology of mul-sensor is a technology with range of application.The paper mainly analyzes the image and sonar object identification. The device with both image and sonar sensor can get a better result. The device used in blind-guiding always has only one sensor. One device is designed with both image and sonar sensor in the paper.The paper makes a research about the current situation of image and sonar sensor technology. The system based on FPGA and DSP was designed from the research. The FPGA is responsible for the sending and receiving of the sonar information. The DSP take the charge of the acquisition of image information and the data processing. The data processing including the preprocessing, feature detection and data fusion. The output of the result will be sent in the form of audio frequency. With the help of the brain, the blind people can recongnize the object.Some experiments are peformed in the paper. The relevant experiments made verify the feasibility and the practicability of technology proposed in the paper. The research achievement can not only be used in the aid of blind but also be used in other areas like security system and so on.
