Modern information war promotes the development of radar automatic target recognition (RATR), which is benefit from the better research conditions and the better engineering realization creating by the rapid development of modern radar. High resolution range profile (HRRP) has gained much attention, because it provides the detail structure information of the target on the range dimension, and has the advantage of easy acquisition and handling. Grey system theory as a new way to analyze and process systems with incomplete information, has extended its application to RATR recently. The thesis bases on RATR applying grey relational analysis, and the emphases of it are placed on the researches of RATR using HRRP based on angle incidence and morphology incidence. The main contents are described as follows.First, to eliminate the aspect sensitivity of HRRP, RATR based on segmenting angular sectors adaptively is discussed. The method makes use of the matching degree to divide the boundary of data, thus switches the non-linear classification problem to a linear one, and scatterer strength distributing profile to represent the HRRP of an angular sector. It can determine the angular scope, reduce the number of templates, and improve the recognition performance.Next, RATR based on Grey System is introduced. The process applies grey relational analysis on the basis of adaptive angular sectors segmentation, especially discussing the angle relational degree, an improved grey relational degree. The thesis proposes method of applying the angle relational degree to RATR based on real HRRP and complex HRRP. Unlike real HRRP, we should extract differential phase information of complex HRRP in order to take the initial phase sensitivity away.Finally, the thesis proposes RATR based on morphology to further reduce the amount of calculation. Monte-Carlo simulation proves that the method can compress the system storage, also enhance the real time performance and the anti-noise property as well, most of all it can improve the recognition performance as a whole.
