Currently, optical fiber communication is widely used worldwide. As the bottom structure of optical communication networks, optical access network connected to the control office with base stations and local networks, which plays an essential role. Falling into the category of optical access network, Radio-over-Fiber technology offers the future access solutions for high speed, high-capacity wireless communication. At the same time, optical advanced optical modulation formats is also a hot topic in the research field of optical communications. Therefore, the subject, that how to use different optical advanced modulation formats in RoF system, gradually draws people's attentions.Based on the research background mentioned above, the thesis doing research work on three topics below:1 Discuss the widely used quadrature modulation format and orthogonal optical label switching technology, focusing on the bit error rate calculation method of label signal in orthogonal optical label switching. Give mathematical derivation and simulation results, which confirms that the calculation method can be widely used to measure BER of multi-level modulated signals.2 Discuss the operation of optical minimum shift keying, and provide dual-level optical minimum shift keying based on it. Give mathematical deviation, structure diagrams and simulation results for both single and dual-level minimum shift keying in optical communications system.3 Provide novel Full-duplex RoF system based on MSK modulation format, with one arm being modulated in the downlink system and another arm being modulated in the uplink system. Give system diagrams and simulation results, showing the advantages of this novel RoF system.
