SOA and Cloud Computing technology, as represented by Web Services technology, are now rapidly replacing the traditional desktop software architecture, occupied majority of enterprise market. With the development of Web Service technology, the Web service is becoming more and more complex. Current software test technology is challenged by its features such as:flexible, easily-changed and browser-based. Automated test is a very important part of software test, as well as a very important method to ensure software quality. The traditional automated technology is designed for desktop; it does not fit the Web Service test very well. So, research and design the automated test system for Web service features, is currently a hot area of automated testing.The theory of automated testing is described in this paper, as well as the advantages of automated testing and the step and meaning of automated testing implementation. By the research on key-word driven automated test technology, this paper proposes an automated test framework based on key-word driven technology. The framework is suitable for Web Service features and is easily to develop, to migrate and maintain, by using IBM Rational Functional Tester to implement this framework.The automated test framework adopts a hierarchical design and can be used for Web services automated test. By separating the data and code, the modular design, this paper describes the way to increase the migration capability of GUI operation module which is complex in the framework. It can reduce the cost of migration and the cost of maintain, and makes the framework capable to do GVT test. A new log component for the framework, make the log become easier to read and manage is designed in this paper. A new solution for the development and store the test script that based on Excel and SQLServer is designed and implemented in this paper which completes the whole automated test system. Some problem on current key-word driven automated test framework on test script tool are resolved. Making the tester develop and manage the script easier, a script is now much more clearer and easier to understand.it increased the efficiency of develop and manage the script. The efficiency of automated test and tester's work is increased by using this automatic test system.
