As the development of science and technology, microwave signals are widely applied nowadays and power is one of the important parameters for these signals. This make the power amplification and control a very crucial topic.This paper conducts research on the wide-band microwave amplifier and drafts the design scheme. Microwave devices and control devices that would be applied are also analyzed and designed, while frabrication and measurements are also conducted. Herein list the frame of this project:1. Power sampling of weak and large microwave signals. Comparison of different strong signal sampling methods are conducted. Directional coupler are studied and optimized, then we fabricate both the weak and strong signal directional coupler and measurements are conducted as well.2. We compare the microwave transistor and traveling wave tube and choose them based on the amplification parameter. The traveling wave tube and corresponding servo system are measured.3. We construct the amplifier control system using programmable controller, user interface and automatic gain controlling softwares are also composed. This enables the real-time display and gain stablizing, it is also capable of monitoring the status of the traveling wave tube switch and temperature.4. The amplification system is constructed and tested.The measurements and results shows that the theoretical analysis of this project is valid and the scheme is capable of achieving high level of stability and practicability.
