The Network Structure Of Wikipedia And Credible Analysis

The Wiki pattern has greatly changed our social and economic life, including the production and development ways. As one of the most successful products of this great wave, the Wikipedia has already grown into the most popular website in less than ten years. the rapid development of the internet technology has greatly pushed forward the increase of this collaborative encyclopedia system. As a typical collective wisdom, the Wikipedia family has grown into the world's largest online information system. The research of Wikipedia can not only helps understand the successful pattern of wikis, but more importantly, by investigating into the Wikipedia system, it helps reveal the underlying mechanism for the formation of the self-organized systems, discover the related feature of the large-scale network of knowledge, and recognize the various behave mode and interaction feature of in the collaborative system. These scientific problems are now, the focus of the many different fields , for example physics, informatics, management etc. Yet, all around the world, most related works focused on the qualitative discussion, and ignored the quatitative research, what's worth, there is almost no such work domestically. Thus, a deep quantitative investigation into the Wikipedia is necessary for us to reveal the structure and evolution of the feature of the knowledge and information system.In this paper we introduce the Wikipedia's history, technical characteristics, macro-level statistical properties, evolution regularities, visualization, and so on. Especially we emphasize the application of the motivation and methods of complex network study and human dynamics in analyzing the Wikipedia.We analysis the network structer though articles-articles network, semantic categories-article network, user-article network, meanwhile we also analysis the sort of credibility for the article,and the evaluation indicators and methods of user reputation.Finally, we outline some open questions for future research; especially discuss the connection between Wikipedia and the new development in complexity sciences, such as the studies of complex network and human dynamics.
