With the development of computer hardware and computer vision technology, a computer vision-based traffic monitoring system has become true. Vehicle detection and tracking real-time system based on video is the key to traffic monitoring system. Traffic monitoring system is the intelligent transportation system is an important aspect of the subsystem responsible for collecting all of the road traffic flow parameters, such as traffic flow, speed,models, queuing time, and length. Detection of the road there are many parameters, there are ultrasonic testing, infrared testing, induction loop detection and video-based detection.Video-based detection methods with computer technology, image processing, artificial intelligence and pattern recognition technology continues to evolve, get in traffic detection of more and more widely used.Many popular related technology did not meet vary requirements. Therefore, an efficient and robust detection and tracking system is needed eagerly.The aim is to design video-based vehicle detection system, which can limit the noise of system and pedestrian factor, and used in large area, multiple objects and complex environment in traffic surveillance. The video maps are processed, offtaking the image of background, differentiating the background, drawing out the motive targets, threshold value processing and bleaching the scatters, etc. Finally, all motive targets , which are on the road surface, are detected.
