With the development of microprocessor processing technology, more and more wireless networks begin to use the distributed network form, which have the advantage of high flexibility and self-organization. At the same time, mobile terminals evolve to be multi-mode, multi-interface and multi-channel, which promotes the form of heterogeneous wireless relay network to be a popular trend for wireless networks. Although the distributed network can be quickly formed and does not require a base station, it is difficult to manage all of the wireless resources, because of the lack of an overall control mechanism. There are more problems for the heterogeneous wireless relay network, and the most significant ones are as below:the achievement of interwork among different network forms, the network traffic balance, the optimization of frequency spectrum efficiency and of terminal power consumption, and the supply of favorable network environment to customers.To solve the problems above, we first study the method of traffic balance in central-control heterogeneous networks. Next, we consider the control of transmission speed as well as the control of the terminal power consumption in heterogeneous relay networks.Finally, as our project required, we work on the optimization in subcarriers allocation method--the main transmission modulation method for relay network. Some research results are given below:1. In the central-control network, an algorithm of heterogeneous wireless resource management is proposed. It takes charge of heterogeneous networks' prices as a whole and makes an overall decision, using the real-time changes of networks' bandwidth and load, together with the number of users, and at last dominates users' access by the change of price. Results of simulation shows that, when network is in a situation of high network load and a large number of users, the algorithm performs well to control users' access, to reduce network congestion's chances and to increase network operators' revenue.2. In order to solve the problem of transmission rate and power control in heterogeneous relay networks, a heterogeneous wireless relay network transport algorithm is given, which includes a transmission balance algorithm and a multimode-port fusion method. At last, a simulation of the algorithm is given, and the results showed that, relay network can get higher transmission rate and save power with the algorithm.3. The radio resource management of the virtual MIMO networks, which are modulated by OFDM, is researched. To manage the OFDM subcarriers and terminals power allocation in the distributed networks, we propose a service sensitivity subcarrier allocation method, which allocates OFDM subcarriers dynamically based on channel information and service types. The simulation results showed that, the method can increase subcarriers utilization rate, and allocate bandwidth appropriately among different kinds of service.
