Xxxx-type Traveling Wave Tube Insulation In The Production Of Ignition,

The traveling wave tube, has been widely used in modern society for military equipment, such as fixed and mobile ground radar, airborne fire control radar and electronic countermeasures equipment etc.In real applications, however, it has some problems of poor reliability and stability. Upon it was used for some time, there will be insulation deterioration, lose energy device destroyed, larger spiral line current, and the vacuum degree reduction problems and so on, which seriously affected the normal operation of traveling wave tube.This paper aims at mechanism analysis on insulation deterioration of electron gun parts of the traveling wave tube and the arcing phenomenon, and makes conclusion through the following six aspects analysis:(1) Impact of secondary electron emission;(2) Impact of field emission;(3) Impact of cathode barium pollution;(4) Impact of vacuum degree;(5) Impact of cathode expansion coefficient;(6) Impact of material selection.On the basis of analysis above, find the reason resulting in insulation deterioration between electrodes of traveling wave tube and arcing phenomenon after a period of usage.Through theoretical analysis, improvement will be made from the following four aspects:(1) To improve the distance between the cathode and the control pole;(2) To conduct the pretreatment on evaporation material of cathode;(3) To conduct pre-exhalation processing on parts from the perspective of vacuum degree.(4) To optimize the machining process of the parts. Carry out tubing experiment on the improved structured actually, and make tests. Finally, the parameters can be met required and also the insulation problem between the cathode and the control pole can be solved.The empirical data thus gained will be used as references for designing and producing traveling wave tubes in future, to improve the reliability, stability and products finished rate of traveling wave tube, contributing to the cause of national defense.
