A stain locating and monitoring system has been developed in the basis of intelligent production and efficient information collection. Further research is also carried out on video transomission. The system is mainly composed of image acquisition, image processing, stain location data processing, network transmission and video monitor module. The key components are PC, graphic card (Daheng G410), cameras, ADLINK DAQ (Adlink Technology Inc.) and layer (Bangshou Co.). Human computer interface software which consists of client application program and server application program is also developed. The client application program assists module to deal with the acquisition, processing and location of image and data transmission. The server application program performs the collection and analysis of data and monitors the storage of the information. In the promising study on video transmission, information source is integrated with the algorithm of channel coding video transmission and the H.264 video transmission algorithm is proposed, which is based on digital fountain code unequal error protection.When the system is running, the server first performs image acquisition of the stain at the rate of 15 frames per second, then does image processing to find the stain and locats the stain through laser, and sends the processed real-time image to client by Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). So far, the stain location is only applied to white background. In other words, it is only applied to aluminum sheet production. The server analyzes displays and saves the collected video data and interceptes the stain process video to save especially so that it can be re-acquired and re-played easily by the interface. In addition, it assists the Access database to save the production information.Robustness significantly characterizes the performance of video transmission. Based on digital fountain code unequal error protection, H.264 video transmission algorithm combines the information source coding and channel coding to obtain layer protection of information. It can effectively adapt to the variation of the wireless channel to improve the robustness of the video stream.Advanced components and techniques have been used in the design and implementation of this system. Through the repeated design optimization and debug, the system has achieved the accurate and efficient stain location and monitoring. So far, the integration and debug of hardware and software for this monitoring system have been completed. One prototype has been developed. The prototype can perform the basic functions under simulated on-site environment in lab. The overall goal performance is achieved.
