Single-Carrier Frequency-domain Equalization (SC-FDE), which is capable of combating the frequency selective fading, is becoming an attractive research issue now. SC-FDE is similar to Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) in its system structure, but no longer severs high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) problem.Firstly, this dissertation focuses on three key technologies in the SC-FDE prototype instrument, including channel-estimation, Turbo equalization and the cancelation of inter-antenna interference in multi-antenna system. This SC-FDE system takes Estimating Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques (ESPRIT) as its channel estimation algorithm, which is proved performing better than DFT interpolation method. Turbo equalization integrates linear equalization and Tubro decoding, providing excellent BER performance. After comparing succussive interference cancellation and parallel interference cancellation in multi-antenna system, SC-FDE prototype instrument chooses parallel structure to implement with Turbo equalization.On the base of the study of key technologies, this dissertation implements DSP baseband data processing programs in the SC-FDE prototype instrument. According to the moderating and sapace-time processing types, there are four data links in SC-FDE prototype instrument. Each of them is tested to be correct and effective by floating point simulation and fixed point to floating point comparing.In order to examine and certify the real performance of the SC-FDE prototype instrument, this dissertation has took emulation on Air Interface Emulater and outdoor transmission test. The emulation on Air Interface Emulater, in which the high frequency analog signals between transmiter and receiver are distorted, tests the system performance in fading environment. The outdoor transmission test cound certify the integrity and the feasibility of the whole system, with the distances of 1km and 20km between the transmitter and the receiver.
