Hidden curriculum is a very important but often neglected issue in the curriculum area.The study of curriculum bacically confined to the area of covert curriculum in a very long time. The hidden curriculum has become a subject of worldwide attention until 1960s.Based on the study of hidden curriculum abroard, the scholars in our country have studied this issue consciously in the 1980s. But the hidden curriculum study in the field of adult education has just started in our country and the research is not very rich. It is particularly important to study hidden curriculum in the field of adult education either from the perspective of adult education's responsibility or the effect of hidden curriculum but also the characteristics of adult learners. This is mainly because the hidden curriculum of adult education can fully develop the adult learners' activities and make them obtain a capacity for sustainable development, which is exactly what modern society requires. It is no doubt that hidden curriculum can affect adult learners, but whether the hidden curriculum can play an active role to the greatest possible depends on the curriculum design scientific or not. Good curriculum design is the prerequisite of the curriculum implementation and the assurance to improve the education quality. Hidden curriculum inevitably produces both positive and negative role since the broad range of hidden curriculum, the concealment when it play roles, and the difference of adult learners' construction styles. So we guide them by the curriculum design to avoid disadvantages. The task of the curriculum design in adult education is to ensure rich resources and positive impact on adult learners by reset the people, object and situation.In this study, we first describe the situation of the curriculum design in adult education, and then we explain the two main concepts, the hidden curriculum of adult education and curriculum design, next, we analyze the urgency and necessity of the study of the curriculum design in adult education, and the last four parts is the main body. According to the classical studies in Harry Giles's"Eight-YearStudy" report, curriculum design focuses on the nature of the four compinents and arrangements of them, namely:curriculum goals, curriculum content, curriculum implementation, curriculum evaluation. Closely around the special characteristics of the hidden curriculum and the adult learners, we make a systemic and overall design from the next four parts:the design of the hidden curriculum goals in adult education, the design of the hidden curriculum content in adult education, the design of the hidden curriculum implementation in adult education, the design of the hidden curriculum evaluation in adult education. |
