Junior High School Teacher Professional Development Status And Countermeasures

At present, the basic education reform is entering a enhanced period of quality education and the education for the comprehensive development of students as the goal of educational development is entering a new phase.The important role of headteachers, their quality and team-building have direct impact on the implementation of the quality education. The headteacher's level of specialization has become the key to the success of quality education. The studies on the present status of the junior headteachers'specialization in Dezhou City helps to find the problems with professional development, helps to broaden the vision of the headteachers so as to find effective measures to enhance the headteacher's work and to promote headteachers'professional development process,and it is more conducive to raising the quality and level of quality education.In this study, by conducting a questionnaire survey and interviews on some junior high school headteachers, principles, sdudents in some counties and cities in Dezhou City , the author has learned about the current status of professional development of the junior headteachers in Dezhou, found the problems with their professional development. On the in-depth basis of the problems, the author puts forward measures to promote the development of junior high school headteachers and countermeasures: 1. to enhance the community's awareness about the headteachers'professional development; 2. to establish and perfect the headteacher's Entry System; 3. to strengthen and improve the training system for headteachers; 4. to promote the self-development of individual teachers; 5. to implement scientific evaluation, and to establish professional level grades; 6. to construct network platform of headteachers for exchange of experiences to promote the headteachers'professional development.
