The traditional reading teaching only focuses on language points while the traditional writing on reading techniques.When it comes to the cognitive procedures or the classroom teaching,reading and writing are not supposed to be separated from each other.Instead,they are closely related to each other.The present study attaches a great importance to the construction of a new teaching system that allows the interaction of reading and writing,trough the study of reading and writing teaching patterns. Hopefully,this new teaching system will enable more students to do better in reading and writing so as to improve their understanding of Chinese.The study can be divided into 4 chapters.Chapter One:The historical origins and theoretical bases of the integration of reading and writing teachingIn this chapter,the historical origins of the integration will be elaborated based on the notions proposed by both modern and ancient edueationalists.The pattern of learning transfer,mental process of reading and writing and the mental characteristics displayed by the students provide the integration with theoretical bases and possibilities.Chapter Two:The existing issues and current situation of senior high school in-class reading and writing teachingThis chapter is a specific analysis and description based on the facts of students' problems in reading and writing,teachers' personal quality and the current situation of reading and writing in senior high school.Chapter Three:The necessity and significance of in-class reading and writing integrationThis chapter is accomplished through the analysis of students' compositions with high marks,extracting the materials in these compositions.Then taking the Biographies of Qu Yuan as a case in point,the author will combine it with the study of the topics of compositions taken from the university entrance examinations from the year 2000 to 2005 and analyze how to apply the materials of students' text book into the compositions.Chapter Four:The carrying out of in-class reading and writing teaching integration The author will elaborate on the carrying out of the integration strategies of the teachers' and the students' separately.Eight different kinds of methods will be proposed concerning the ways of handling the teaching materials by the teachers. Meanwhile,some requests will also be laid out for the students in respect of reading and writing.
