The new curriculum advocates the"independent, cooperative and investigative"learning styles. The purpose of this thesis is to try to change the situation that the teachers'mechanical teaching and the students'passive learning, to improve the students'ability to participate the learning, to enable the students learning actively and creatively, to combine the language teaching and learning with the Chinese traditional culture, the life practice and the students'emotional experience. The language teaching and learning are limited in the rural area by the level of the economic development, the level of running school, the level of the teaching force, the level of the students and the effect of the exam- oriented education. There are all kinds of difficulties and confusion in the practice of investigative teaching. The teachers feel that there is no way to solve it.This thesis is based on the practical situation and the existing conditions of the rural middle school that the author is in. The purpose of this thesis is to try to explore a new way to change the traditional way of the language teaching and the students'way of passive learning, to explore the possibility of using the investigative way of learning and the effective solutions. The author eagerly hopes that the students in the rural area are really in active learning state that the new curriculum required; the students can explore scientifically and can give full play to the innovative potential of the language learning system.This thesis is divided into five chapters. chapter 1: The research of the investigative language learning condition in the rural area and sort out the main problems that exist in the language learning and teaching in the rural area, expounding the necessity and the urgency of carrying out the investigative learning style in the rural area; the emphasis of this thesis is in chapter 2, chapter 3, chapter 4 and chapter 5, with regard to the special problems in the rural area, four countermeasures are put forward step by step.-----the overall countermeasure: change the roles of the teachers. The rural middle school teachers should be off the high horse, make friends with the students and become a"chief equality"of the class. The teachers should change the students'passive learning style and make the students become the master of learning.------ enforce the oral communication teaching, break up the bottleneck of the communication. This is the prepare countermeasure for carrying out the investigative learning style in the rural area. Because before the investigative learning style to carry out in the language learning is the communication between the teachers and the students, and the teachers should be good listeners of the students.------ make the questions the precursor, carrying out the investigative learning style in the reading classroom teaching. Firstly, cultivate the students'question awareness, because the investigation begins with the questions; secondly, changing the teachers'teaching styles, break up the common teaching patterns and bring along the changing the students'learning styles.------ combine the investigative actions with the rural life, and carry out the investigative learning style in the composition classroom teaching. With regard to the malpractice that the composition is separated from the real life, countermeasures of investigative composition writing based on the rural life is put forward, with regard to the contradiction between the teachers and the body of the composition, countermeasures that special subject investigative action writing training is put forward.
