There is still no explicit definition on "employability",but there is a consentaneous cognition on its value.Individuals with high level of employability have the abilities and attributes to own successful employments and careers. With the popularization of higher education,HEIs become the main providers of labor force.Enhancing the students' employability becomes one of the core functions of HEI.The appearance of the problem on graduates' employment makes the development of employability a focus for education researchers both abroad and home.Based on that background,"Employability" is defined as "the capability to gain and maintaining fulfilling employment and to obtaining new employment if required" in this dissertation.Taking the graduates in Shanghai district as an example and looking from the students' point of view, the dissertation analyzes two main problems systematically:the graduates' employability and the factors which inference the level of employability. The conclusion is that①the practice, experience and good marks have positive impact on employability;②the initiative spirit, the sense of responsibility and honesty have great positive impact on employability;③perseverance and the tough character are also very important to employability;④the " transfer abilities" have great positive impact on employability.Other conclusions can be seen in the relevant parts of Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.According to the conclusions, suggestions are proposed, such as①students should change their concept on employment to pay enough attention to their qualities and employability, and they should make the plan of their career;②HEIs should change the pattern which was used to cultivate students to enhance students' employability and provide guidance for students' employment;@employers should develop the employability of both students and employees.Other details can be seen in the relevant parts of Chapter 4.
