Athletics is one of the chief signs that measure the sports development of a country or region. It is also an important window that shows its development in science and technology, economy and culture. Actually, athletic competition is the competition of talent, science and technology. This paper analyzes and studies the development of outstanding athletic talent in the sport teams for the Olympics over the past 20 years by using logical analysis, comparative analysis, correlation analysis and other methods. The result shows that, in outstanding athletes, the total number is increasing year after year since 1995; the age structure is being optimized; the number of different levels is affected by the national game; the educational levels are being raising, but still not ideal and the retired athletes which are employed in non-sports system is gradually increasing; in outstanding coaches, the total number of outstanding coaches is ahead of the one in the non-Olympic events and the gap between them is widening; educational levels are rising with a sound development in the overall quality; the ratio of the initial title is significantly higher than that of senior titles; the largest percentage is the ones of less than 10 years of seniority; educational level of the athletes is one of the most important hidden factors which affects athletic level; The top athletes who have gotten college education has a positive impact on the ones in different levels; the amount of financial investment affected by Olympic sports is increasing year by year; the state's financial allocation is still the main part , but with very randomness; non-State funding has become another major source of funding for sports teams.
