This paper takes "gentlemen and gentlewomen" , the training goal of Nanjing S secondary school for example, to explore how it has become the school's moral goal and entered into the students' daily life . It takes school - student as the analytical framework to analyze the tension on this goal. This paper reveals the school's gender construction technology and the students' gender-play and self-identity from the point of view of gender sociology and body sociology.This paper uses near to far narration. The close shot shows the whole process of "gentlemen and gentlewomen" from proposing to rationalization. It reveals the role of the various forces on this goal: the media, the school, educational administrator forces, experts and the parents, and analyzes the school's various strategies. Meanwhile, this paper shows the students' three attitudes towards this goal: indifference, resistance and positive attitude.The medium shot extends to students' orientation of gender-play and concept of gender roles and sums up five basic orientations: natural orientation, domestic orientation, separate orientation, personality orientation and conflict orientation. Meanwhile, this paper reveals the students' concept of gender roles and gender interaction situations through questionnaires.The long shot maintains a certain distance with practice to reveal "gentlemen and gentlewomen", which is a gender construction strategy in a certain sense and the students' gender-play in a certain sense is the process of self-identification through body.
