The study is about the assessment of writing, especially the self-assessment of writing is poor in middle-school. The thesis advocates self - assessment of writing and stresses the development of students.Teachers guide students to assess their writing activities and compostions.Self-control and self-assessment in writing should be carried out in the whole process through writing. On the basis of abundant writing activites , teachers leads the students to pay attention to the self-revision of compositions. The writing curriculumn would be founded on the basis on self-assessment in writing . We have to solve the prblem of self-assessment in writing in order to found writing curriculumn.The study of the paper is based on the theory of metacognition psychology, self-efficacy, self-assessment , self-directed learning and self-regulated study is needed in writing teaching. Many psychologists and teachers have achieved a lot on self-assessment of learning and writing. The thesis tries to carry the theory in psychology into writing teaching practice.The main methods include literature method and comparing method. The thesis refers to the a series of books translated by the team of national curriculum reform "the study to stimulate the development of teachers and students" ; Psychology books , writing books , self-assessment books on writing and writing textbooks in America, etc.During the research, the research worker has been, in a middle school for self-assessment teaching on writing for one term and achieved many improvements.At last in the thesis, the research worker offered the successful practice teaching.
