In the thesis, various approaches have been adopted to make a systematic and profound study on personality defect and corresponding personality education of advanced-vocational college students under the background of our present social and economic development. To begin with, the psychological connotation of personality and the relevant problems have been illustrated in an all-round way. Besides, after studying extensive present-day documents and data as well as autopsies, the author of the thesis, depending on his over ten-year teaching experiences, has pointed out that the existing personality defect of advanced-vocational college students is mainly displayed in such aspects as the lack of cognizant ability which is inclined to make some cognizant deviations, a prominence in moody emotions which results in the sense of intolerance, bad behavior manners, the low ability to adapt to circumstances, salient inter-relationship disputes and so on. The healthy development of personality has seriously been restricted by the personality defect of such kinds. At the same time, the thesis has made a detailed analysis on the main causes leading to the personality defect of advanced-vocational college students, that is, physiological and psychological factors, improper family education, vulnerable college foundation resulting in the ignorance of personality education, the impact of network and pop culture, their own low social recognition and high employment pressure. In order to counter these problems and causes, the thesis has put forward enhancing advanced-vocational college students' personality education, which demands our immediate attention. This kind of education should follow such students-oriented principles as respecting students so as to inspire their self-consciousness, caring about students so as to evoke their enthusiasm and exploring students so as to arouse their creativity. It is necessary to reinforce advanced-vocational college students' education of the world look, ideal and belief. Their self-consciousness should also be strengthened. They should be encouraged to join in social practice. Study environment of high quality should be created as well. Class teaching can be regarded as a main approach to students' personality education. It is necessary to launch a movement for psychological consultation, too. Meanwhile, advanced-vocational college teachers should heighten their moral virtues to improve their personal charming. By means of further exploration, the thesis is likely to provide a scientific basis for policy-making leaders, a teaching reference for advanced-vocational college teachers and a lesson for the healthy and harmonious development of advanced-vocational college students.
