| Curriculum Standard in Math says that the final purpose of courses in compulsory education is to lay better foundations for students'sustained development and to foster students'desire and ability to study in their life. The purpose is also that everybody can learn valuable math and obtain necessary math and different children can develop in math. All that above requires that teachers should adjust their role in teaching in time, from a person teaching knowledge to a person who organizes, guides and cooperate in students'math learning. Teachers should change the traditional way of teaching in order to change students'way of learning and to foster their desire and ability to study all the life. When they organize the teaching activities in class, teachers should change students'from passive one to active one and should give students more time and space to make an inquiry of their own accord.According to the investigation, the junior students in our school, show little interest in math and haven't cultivated good habits of study. They are always dependent on others in study without independent awareness and ability. What should we do to improve students'independence in study? In my research, I put forward an operative program in which teachers can foster students to study on their own initiative. The basic program is to plan an outline for preparing lessons before class, guide students to study by themselves------ analysis and deliberate, inspire and explain---- practice promptly, teach and explain carefully----test and feedback, understand and expand. After a year's practice, the result shows that this pattern can arouse students'interest in math, foster students'initiative in study and play an active role in developing students'ability to study of their own accord and increasing their marks in math. |
