Education Role In Research, Build A Harmonious Society In Jiangsu Province

The plan of constructing socialistic harmonious society was put forward during the Fourth Session of the Fifteenth Central Committee of the Party. At this background, Jiangsu Province, which is prosperous in economy and advanced in education, confronts the issues of how to propel the higher education development, how to bring all the functions of education into full play, and how to transform the heavy pollution burden into abundant human resource. These issues need to be solved urgently when Jiangsu Province strives to build a well-off society in an all-round way and devotes to taking the lead in two aspects.Using knowledge of pedagogy, sociology, management, educational economics, educational policy, coupled with the analysis of the higher education development in the era of knowledge-based economy, based on the analysis the theories of the relationship between higher education and economic society, this thesis probes into the relationship between higher education and Jiangsu Province's construction of harmonious society and puts forward the development strategies for higher education in the process of constructing harmonious society. The thesis can be divided into four parts. The first part is the explanation of some theories concerning higher education and constructing harmonious society. The second part analyzes the achievements, situation and problems of higher education in Jiangsu Province. This thesis author firstly analyzes the concrete functions of higher education in constructing harmonious society , then expounds that constructing harmonious society provides opportunism for development in the third part. The thesis author puts forward specific strategies for development of higher education in the new era in the fourth part.
