Kindergarten Local Culture Curriculum Studies

With a new step of reformation of basic education, pre-school education, as the foundation of basic education, is also looking for the basis of its own development. How to realize the healthy mental development of pre-school children needs to be considered carefully by every educator for pre-school education. From the perspective of the theory of Education Cultures, for local cultures contain plenty of educational resources, how to utilize the local culture resources for kindergarten courses and realize the mutual promotion and innovation in children's development and culture, is the obligatory task for all persons who concern about the development of children and the continuity of Chinese cultures.Especially in modern times, many folk cultures in different areas have been lost and died out, which makes the people who care about the survival of folk cultures feel harrowing. The local folk cultures symbolize the wisdom of Chinese people and are also the spirit support of them. So the educators in different areas can develop their own courses by taking advantage of their local cultures. This will play a positive role in the continuity of cultures and the development of children's spirit.By collecting and referring to documents, the survival status of local cultures was reviewed in this thesis. During the past two years, the author visited four kindergartens in both north and south of China, and surveyed the implementation of courses using local cultures to improve children's spirit in these kindergartens. And the activity cases in the courses were also analyzed. By interviewing with teachers in the kindergartens, the value of local culture courses to children's development, the perplex and shortcoming in the courses implementation were discussed deeply. In this paper, several educational advices are proposed on the construction of local culture courses in kindergartens. And in the development of kindergarten courses, we should actively utilize local culture resources to realize the mutual promotion and innovation in children's development and cultural continuity.
