Rules of math teaching are the universal principles for conducting the math teaching, and the laws that should be obeyed while teaching math. The problem of math-teaching rules is one of the core things in the field of math education research. Every person' s ideas and narrations about math-teaching rules are different from each other, because of the complexity of math teaching itself, the dynamics of teaching, the limitation of people' s cognition, etc. It brings the revolution of education thought, ideas of teachers, ideas of students and ideas of math to put the new math lesson standards in practice. And it also provides new development space for .the research on rules of math teaching.This paper sums up the seven universal teaching rules on the basis of expatiating on common teaching principles. Those are being scientific, being intuitionistic, being conscious, being consolidate, integrating the new procedures into the work routine, teaching students in accordance of their aptitude, progressing gradually in proper sequence. Furthermore, the special principles of math teaching should be stood by while Teaching"because it has its own specialty and rule. The paper puts four math-teaching principles in order to adapt to the new lesson standard via the review of the research on the math teaching rules and the analysis of the cause of choosing math-teaching rules. The four principles are process teaching, preciseness within measure, combining abstract and substance, and applying math widely. In addition, the paper expounds how to carry out those four principles according to the practice of teaching math in middle school.
