Based on the situation where physical education and health-related subjects for key high school are implemented in rural areas, DongTai, keeping both the fundamental idea and goal in mind, this paper discusses how to construct a new framework on evaluating P.E. and other health-related curriculum, making them more generalized, feasible, and worth following up.To identify the problems on the existing way of evaluation with regard to the areas mentioned above through the survey conducted in rural area-based schools of our city. They are, placing too much emphasis on results, but less emphasis on how and what is on without any record kept; ignoring the differences between students, accessing different subjects taught either with the same criterion or by personal preference; the evaluation on students' learning is separated from teaching goals so that it can't present a whole picture of the progress made by students, nor can it enhance learning and encourage students to go ahead. As a result, the newly established curriculum can't work well enough to find out the cause of the problems—one exam decides one's future— from the perspectives of ideology, system and technology. To recall and analyze what was going on in the area and then to see the great need for the reform on the basic education, and to learn the lessons from the past failures( the mentioned above) The research is done through such methods as reference books, questionnaires, statistical analysis, and interviews.Besides, to learn something valuable from overseas schools and come to terms with some specific ways for ours in terms of health standard for students and the ones for E.P. class. Of course, different ways will be adopted accordingly with views on students' participation, athletic skills, both physical and mental health and adaptability, etc. An attempt will be made to keep trace of the progress being made by students and to keep timely records, to provide the workable reference for sound evaluation, to give extra credits for those working hard, to raise levels on assessment and to perfect it.
