This dissertation, starting from the demands for the feature and development of times, probes into the basic theoretical research—teacher's authority. Teacher's authority is the hot topic in the academic world recent years, which brings about the extensive concern of the educational theoretic circles. In the complicatedly either eliminating or constructing argument of teacher's authority, this writer derives the thoughts of democratic authority from the theory of management authority, rethinking and reconsideration teacher's authority, analyzing the practical straits, and elaborates the connotation of new pattern teacher's authority. The thesis classifies the past development process of teacher's authority, and establishes the idea that the teacher's authority should be on the basis of accepting management authority. As a result, it puts forward the realistic scheme of forming new pattern teacher's authority, what is more, it theoretically analyzes the connected research.There are five sections in the dissertation.Section One, as an introduction, introduces the theoretical background and the significance of doing the research; Section Two analyzes teacher's authority in terms of reviewing authority theory, and rethinks the present situation; Section Three focuses on the new pattern teacher's authority by means of analyzing teacher's authority and comparing it with the past pattern. It states not only the nature of democracy and mutual effects of teacher's authority but also its dialectical relationship with students. Section four sets forth what the new pattern is. Stemming from the three angles that they are teacher's authority on knowledge, inspire and system, while dealing with the above aspects thoroughly as follows: (1) teacher's knowledge of subjects and experience, (2) teacher's role charm and personality charm, (3) social system and educational system, it develops its own opinion about how to construct new pattern teacher's authority. Section five, in the light of rethinking the course of studying the new pattern teacher's authority including research method and fields, it expresses the wish that the author wants to be a rethinking teacher in the future career.
