"Full-time Compulsory Education Curriculum Standard" (experimentalmanuscript) pointed out that, "Reading is student's individual behavior." Onlyimplements the teaching new idea of individual reading to the current Chinesecurriculum, can it advance Chinese educational reform to a new boundary. Therefore,in inheriting the outstanding teaching experience of traditional reading and in themodel of scientific theory foundation of modern teaching, it is necessary to realize theindividual reading teaching truly in the practice, practically to sharpen student'sreading ability and the humanities accomplishment, and to urge it to form the goodindividuality and the perfect personality, that is extremely important.The so-called individual reading teaching is that the individual student gains theinformation from the written language, and influences with non-cognition factors,both with the individual difference, again it is a process which converses with the aidof the text and the author, which has the distinct individual characteristic;At thesame time it is a process for the teacher guiding the student to inquire into the nature,creatively to feel, understand, appraise, and appreciate the text. The teacher not onlypay attention to the different understanding and the feeling from the main body(student) to the object (text) in the teaching of individual reading, meanwhile theteaching environment should be adapted with it, lets reading into a process to releasethe individuality, becomes a stage to perform their individuality, in that case thereading quality could be enhanced..Compares with the traditional language teaching,the teaching of individual reading has the following four distinct characteristics:Oneis the self-determination. Two is experience. Three is the critics. Four is the creativity.The individual reading teaching is the inevitable trend in language teaching injunior middle school. This value orientation about the language teaching has itsimportant theory origin. Constructivism, the dialogue theory, acceptable esthetics,multi-intelligent theory and so on have all made the powerful annotation and supportfor the individual reading teaching.The research and the practice prove that the correct strategy can effectivelypromote the teacher to the individual reading teaching implementation and the studentto the individual reading understanding. In the implement process, how to utilize thesestrategies has become the essential link in language individual reading teachingresearch in junior middle schools. The individual reading teaching implementationmainly is to launch from the following several aspects: one is to construct "theindependent--cooperation –inquires" into classroom teaching pattern;the second is tofully understand the mind line of sight in reading;the third is to formulate multiappraisal system in reading teaching;the fourth is to promote the teacher's ownspecialized level diligently.
