In information times . international exchange and cooperation are becoming more and more frequent . The more drastic competitions ask the education of middle schools higher quality. With the development of the society , people who have both rich professional knowledge and skilled English are popular . It is very popular to teach chemistry in English and Chinese in middle school . It is very important to train the students to master the bilingual . Now bilingual teaching is drawing much attention in our society , many universities and middle schools begin to use English for the teaching of certain subjects.In this paper , the efforts are made in theoretical and practical research . We introduce the definition of bilingual and bilingual teaching , compare the bilingual teaching status of China with of those abroad , then analyze the main factors that affect the spreading of bilingual teaching , discuss the pedagogical theories that the bilingual teaching.The practical research mainly consists of two aspects. Firstly , we compare the textbook of middle school between of Canada and of China; Secondly, we introduce the practice of bilingual teaching activity in Nanjing No. 12 middle school . The aim of the activity is to improve the students English level and inspire their interests in Chemistry . We select the projects related to their study of Chemistry and English . This activity supplies students an English speaking and listening situation and cultivate their ability to gain and express chemistry chemical information in English .From the theoretical and practical research , we get some experience of how to give the bilingual teaching in middle school students . We hope the bilingual teaching can improve the students' ability and high the students' score in chemistry and English .
