Transition Improved Social Movements Construct

It happens frequently to link it with revolution, political fight and violent conflict etc when social movement is mentioned, in fact, this is a one-sided understanding. Revolution, political fight etc are just one special manifestation of social movement, nowadays, social movement expresses as one mild, gradual and ameliorative movement more and more. It is directed against various social problems in modern society, an effective means to mobilize and integrate resources, and a way that social members take part in social public affairs from bottom to top. This dissertation is based on the objective analysis to social movement, puts forward a type of "ameliorative social movement", and takes the example of voluntary movement to explore the inevitability and necessity of constructing the ameliorative social movement, finally to provide some tentative plans.The method of this research adopts mostly is literature study. To analyze the question with the existed and indirect data qualitatively, at the same time, to take use of the methods of function analysis, causal analysis and so on, which help to interpret and analyze the research subject well.The whole thesis mainly consists of four parts:The preface introduced the origin and major idea of the research. It is very insufficient for the study of social movement in sociological filed of our country, this is maybe a blind spot of theory, therefore this research is of cutting edge significance.Part I is to analyze social movement objectively and understand it comprehensively from the angle of sociology, which help to clarify and dispel some prejudices, and lay a foundation for the next exposition. The concrete content is to interpret social movement from the aspects of concept, structure, type and function etc. Firstly, by distinguishing from some related concepts, to give an explicit definition of "social movement". Secondly, to interpret the subject, object, goal and means of social movement and to analyze the type of social movement, then particularly put forward "ameliorative social movement", which different from the past revolution and political movement, and manifest the new theme and connotation. This type of social movement is a new motive force of the development of society, and a rational choice to assure the sustainable and harmonious growth of society. Finally, to inquire into the functions of social movement, then to make clear the practical value and significance of ameliorative social movement.Part II is to deepen the cognition to ameliorative social movement by describing and analyzing the important and typical case-voluntary movement. In our country, the beginning of voluntary movement is relatively later, but it developed very fast once stating since the 80s of the 20th century. The component of voluntary movement shows a certain attribute of hiberarchy and diversity because of the universality of participation, however, the body of voluntary movement is mainly composed of the team of community volunteer and the team of youth volunteer. The objects of voluntary movement are chiefly directed against lots of social problems in the period of social transformation, such as the problem of poverty, the problem of social security, the problem of environment and so on. Moreover, voluntary movement can make up the internal drawback of market system and government system, it can complement and improve the system of social security, it can resolve and prevent social problems effectively, it not only created a vast of economic benefits, but also became a strong impetus and a new carrier to construct socialist spiritual civilization. However, it is not enough of the development of voluntary movement, including the low level of participation, the insufficiency of launching. The majority of voluntary movements in China are mobilized and started in the way of administration, namely the way of government or quasi-government, which is contrary to the soul of voluntary movement in the strict sense. The development of voluntary movement is short of the regulation of law, and confronts the shortage of funds. In short, on the one hand, the ameliorative social movement gives full play to its positive and important social functions, on the other hand, it hasn't received universal recognition utilization, which provides the practical basis to initiate and construct the ameliorative social movement.Part III is to probe into the inevitability, necessity and great significance to construct the ameliorative social movement through the study methods of causal analysis and function analysis. In point of the inevitability, the transformation of economic system, the change of political functions, the growth of civil society, the enhancement of civil consciousness, the looseness of system of traditional unit, and the shift of social members from "the person of unit" to "the person of society(community) ", all of these make the development of ameliorative social movement become an inevitable tide. In point of the necessity, depending on the social power to resolve and prevent social problems, fulfilling the development of social filed which outside of market and government, and fitting in with the trend of globalization, all of these require the construction of ameliorative social movement objectively. Besides, the ameliorative social movement has performed much positive functions, for example, it had improvedthe civil consciousness of social public, promoted the progress of Chinese civil society and public welfare career, and so on. All of above lay solid foundations for constructing the ameliorative social movement.PartIV is to put forward some tentative plans to construct the ameliorative social movement as follows: to quicken the development of market economy, enhance the degree of democratization, strengthen the civil consciousness of social public, promote the growth of social organization, quicken the development of community, improve the correlative laws, and cultivate the social intermediate stratum forcefully.In the epilogue of whole thesis, the researcher pointed out that the values and significance to construct the ameliorative social movement, and viewed that the research on social movement should have greater theoretical and practical significance.
