As a socialized individual, man has his own requirements for life, which include not only the basic materials for survival, but also some psychological needs such as feelings and respect, as well as the demands for self-development and self-perfection. According to the lack of requirements in different gradations, the connotation of poverty presents its expansion layer upon layer. Poverty, which has been a long-term social problem, threatens the stability and the continuous development of society. What's more, it's a bitter irony towards the behaviors of constructing a harmonious society based on humanism as people have expected, thus it needs to be solved at its best. The main reasons for this lie in the lack of one of the morals-kindness. Meanwhile, the society doesn't move on in accordance to the principle of justice. Therefore, over a long period of time, the whole nation haven't distributed and redistributed social sources in a quite fair way. To solve this social problem of poverty, our nation needs to do adjustments in all fields to realize the true equality and assure the non-loss for those who are in a relatively disadvantageous place.Just education, as an important means, is of great help to solve the social problems caused by poverty from its root. In a society with equal rights and no privilege, the social position and living state of an individual depends on his thoughts, behaviors and abilities, which can be achieved by improving his synthetical qualities through high-quality education. It is also necessary for a country or a region to invest human resources by the means of education for the purpose of the continuous development and getting rid of poverty. The nine-year compulsory education is in conformity with the economic benefit in developing countries.This dissertation explores the poverty in rural areas in the north of Jiangsu Province from all aspects. After an on-the-spot investigation of the economic and educational situations is made, it is found that even though the children from the rural areas have to receive at least nine years of high-quality education because of the great pressure of survival, they can't enjoy the same high-quality education as those in the cities. The current situation is that peasants can't afford the cost of education. They are in great need of help.It's rather realistic to solve the problem of poverty in education for the northern areas of Jiangsu. Certainly we can learn from the measures taken by other countries in the world, but first of all, we must make people penetrated with the virtue-kindness,and get them to realize it's their duty to show loving care for everyone that needs help, especially for the poor children who can't afford to receive education as their development is closely concerned with the future of our country. People must be grateful to the society and do something in return; Secondly, our country must strengthen the laws, rules and regulations to guarantee the realization of just education; Thirdly, the country and society must make every effort to distribute and redistribute all sorts of sources in right ways, investing the construction of modernized education and solving the education problem for the poor children.
